Cadet Cohort Program
Cohort Recruiting is the process of taking on new members and training them in clearly defined groups or cohorts. The cohort is clustered together for their first 8 meetings and led by members of the cadet staff who are selected to lead the cohort through to their first promotion. During the cohort process, cadets will be taught the basics of being a civil air patrol cadet covering topics such as uniforms, customs and courtesies, how to promote, etc.
A new cohort begins every 6 weeks and ends after 8 weeks, at which time cadets graduate to a full flight, and those who complete promotion requirements are promoted to the grade of C/Amn.
